RIO LINDA, CA (MPG) - It was another nice spring feeling night at this week’s Farmers Market and Craft Fair.
The weather has been unseasonably coastal. Cooler at night and comfortable during the day.
This week's featured vendor is Renewal Soaps. Mom, LeeAnn Williams and her “crew of littles,” as she refers to her three kids who help make the creations.
"We also make lotions, bath bombs and shaving soaps for the men," Williams said.
They have been making soaps for the last year and a half. LeeAnn said she started doing it just to make some “usable” gifts for the holidays. Family members began to ask for more of the soaps, lotions and bath bombs. Then, that light bulb above her head lit up and she had a business.
"I create what I like. If it sells, we just make more,” Williams said. "Sometimes a flavor or sent doesn't sell as well as the others. I jot it down and then discount that smell/flavor and try other smells. [It’s] very exciting to create the different flavors and smells!"
Sitting next to mom was her 15-year-old daughter Janae. She too got into the spirit of creating and taught herself how to personalize cups. She also makes wood signs. You can give her a picture or a favorite saying you'd like to put onto a cup or container, almost anything. For the wood, she burns the saying into it, whatever you ask she will try to do for you. Janae said the turnaround time from order to gift can be as fast as two days
At only 15 years old, Jane is already an entrepreneur. Great job, mom! Renewal Soaps can be contacted at (916) 256-6701, ask for LeeAnn.

Eat fresh and actually taste your food. Have a good week everyone!
