This week I spoke with a concerned customer regarding a postcard she received from “RLECWD Ratepayers” and the postcard’s direction to mail protests in response to the rate restructuring to PO Box 417030 Sacramento, CA 95841. This customer had researched that mailing address and confirmed the address is for the California Patriots Coalition. This customer was alarmed that Rio Linda Elverta Community Water District would align with or in any way be associated with an organization such as the Patriots Coalition. This brings to light the need for disclaimers and clarifications to assuage any further misunderstandings or presumptions.

Rio Linda Elverta Community Water District is not in any way affiliated with “RLECWD Ratepayers” or the California Patriots Coalition. The Rio Linda Community Water District notices and announcement regarding the proposed rate restructuring and public hearing therefore continue to be the authorized, relevant guidance.

There are many egregious, baseless inaccuracies and misrepresentations in the “RLECWD Ratepayers” postcard. In response, I reiterate the recommendations provided in the newspaper published announcement," please contact the General Manager at [email protected] or phone direct line (916) 991-8891 with questions or concerns. You may also post comments/questions or concerns here on this unrestricted Facebook Page. Such an approach may be particularly beneficial as more ratepayers have the same questions as many have.

The link below provides access to the District’s Prop 218 Notice, the newspaper published announcement for the June 21st Public Hearing and the Rate Study/Cost of Service Analysis the Board has adopted to advance to the next stage in its consideration of rates restructuring.
